Are festivals isolated events or do they possess a sustainability that can affect a continuous work of art?
Can the significant impact of a festival stimulate the art scene and create a new consciousness in terms of recognizing clowning as an art form?

Idea: Cia. Animé
Four female clowns participate in an audition for a musical. As none of them passes the test, they decide to start a band and fulfill their life dream: to pay tribute to great divas, such as Edith Piaf, Nina Simone, and Billie Holiday. However, they soon find out that their incorrigible frivolity keeps them from being anything but what they really are – clowns. So, with a very peculiar repertoire, As Levianas take up their true artistic personae in their recently created band, in which they not only play and sing, but also have fun and amuse the audience. An extremely funny vaudeville cabaret on the art of overcoming obstacles.
Cia. Animé
was founded in 2007 by Enne Marx and Nara Menezes and joined by Juliana de Almeida and Tamara Floriano in 2010. They put on their second piece As Levianas em Cabaré Vaudeville at all the major festivals in Brazil, and they are now performing in Austria for the first time. The group’s intention is to combine word plays, comedy, and music into a jovial, profound, theatrical event.
The Cia. Animé group also organizes the female clown festival PalhaçAria in Recife, Brazil, which took place for the first time in September this year.
