Austrian Premiere

“Brother peoples, sister peoples, welcome to the President’s Broadcast room!
Meet Shimmie, the saddest and most happy cleaner in all of Congolababwe, as well as the President: his Notable Greatness, Glorious General, Executive Constable, Exceptional Lieutenant, Almighty Colonel, Majestic Commander, Sovereign Lordship, top quality upper-hand, not to mention robust and omnipotent Superior Chief President, Comrade Viktor Mugabatokwe!
In Congolababwe, dictators come and never go, oppression runs rampant, and the world remains silent.
I Shit Diamonds is the first Not Normal Theatre Show and is showing in Austria for the first time. In it, Stacey Sacks finds a very personal way to draw attention to the circumstances in her birthplace, Zimbabwe.
Stacey Sacks
was born in Zimbabwe and grew up with toilet paper shortages and frizzy hair, which explains a lot. Since she graduated from the University of Cape Town, she has been working as an actress, director, and author for various theaters, TV shows, and feature films.
Her production company Not Normal Productions started with The Not Normal Show in Johannesburg in 2010. It involves a comprehensive concept with Not Normal Films, plays, literary publishers, etc.
Now Stacey is a South African citizen and is currently living in Sweden, where she graduated from the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Public discussion
After the show there will be a discussion (in English) about the play and the situation in Zimbabwe. With Stacey Sacks and Dr. Margit Niederhuber, Africa expert.
In English. Free entry.
